Frequently Asked Questions
How are the display units powered?
The display units have an internal rechargeable coin cell battery. The unit has a USB-C port that is accessible with the unit removed from the shifter body which is used to charge the battery.
How long does the battery last?
On one full charge the battery lasts approximately 8 hours. A full recharge takes approximately 30 minutes.
How do I charge the battery?
You must connect a USB-C to USB-A cable (not provided) to a power source, and to the USB-C port on the display unit. Standard USB ports found in cars, or in 12V converters work perfectly.
How do I remove the display unit?
Each display unit comes with a small suction cup (and a second spare) that makes removal of the display unit extremely easy.
Will I accidentally click the display during normal use?
YES! But this is why we have a 'lock' mode available in the display. With press sequences you can set the display to be locked so while you drive the display will remain how you set it. See the about page for display controls.
Can the brightness be adjusted?
Yes, by holding down on the display the brightness will slowly pulse and remain at the set brightness when you release. The range is from maximum brightness (extremely distracting at night) to minimum brightness (invisible in daylight, perfect at night).
Are the threads made of metal?
Yes, the internal thread is metal with a nylon insert to achieve tightness on your shifter shaft. We insert the correct thread size for you vehicle into each shifter.
What if I don't know my thread size?
Unfortunately we cannot provide the service of searching for the correct thread size for your vehicle so please source the correct specification before placing your order. If you cannot find this information online you can ask a local fasteners store to test the thread size of your shifter shaft.
